When I found myself awake at 8am, I proposed to Belovedest that we attend Spoonie Happy Hour at Costco. The socially distant line of mostly 60+ people and some younger people with miscellaneous underlying issues went down to the loading dock and doubled back up. They didn't have toilet paper. They did have a magnetic whiteboard with some frequently requested items and their status in a grid. Useful.
After that we got more chocolate. And rice. The bag had become light enough that I was getting twitchy, but we didn't need the 50 pound bag. According to one Twitter game, what you most recently stocked up on plus your favorite character class is your new title. This makes me the Chocolate Chip Cleric, probably.
All the waiting in line was a bit chilly. The blueberry slush drink (frozen blueberries, old popsicles, fizzy water, muddled aggressively) was tasty but I eventually realized I was very cold and should horizont myself with a hot water bottle.
The plastic snaps were too small to be compatible with my existing hats. But I did immediately solve the problem of a particular pillowcase that keeps migrating off my knee pillow. It has ... a SNAP! (The hat is too thick to happily add an additional snap.)
alexseanchai had wanted to make red beans and rice, but lacked the correct sausage. We fixed that. It was good.
The roombots arrived! I have mentioned R. Daneel before. So I know what 2007-ish Roombae were like. It's going to take them a while to charge, especially because they arrived so late.
Tomorrow is April first.
The facts of the apocalypse mean that certain types of jokes (particularly pandemic-related scares and elaborate wastes of effort) are insensitive.
I have, not to brag, been touched by certain forces of chaos. I am trickster-afilliated. April Fool's Day is a religious holiday for me. (And I have Opinions about people using it to be unkind and untrustworthy for no good reason.)
A Roomba is a force of bewildered, bewildering, gentle chaos.
Tomorrow, April Fool's Day, we release the Roombots.

I neither have nor want a Batman icon

Not that I could have managed 8am any easier.
Tomorrow, April Fool's Day, we release the Roombots.
Very nice. If you have the spoons later on, I'd love to hear how it goes.

I'm happy Costco, Sam's Club, BJs (I think) are doing happy hours for those who can't afford to fight off hoardes of people. Make it more accessible for everyone, etc.
Have fun with the roombots!

But really: I STOCKED UP on potatoes, so I won't have to hunt them down in the wilderness for a while! I now have potato options in red, yellow, purple, and sweet. :D

One anticipates reports on any encounters the felines might have with the Roombots.
