The Great Room Swap: Sunday

* Woke up 9:30-ish, after having slept most of the night. Phone tells me I've slept 9 hours, and I mostly agree.
* Yellface is upstairs today, because she is least likely to dart outdoors, and least likely to be distressed by her home base being uprooted.
* Alex made chocolate chip pancakes, nom
* Have taken pills yes
* plan for the day: rent carpet cleaner, clean carpet??

Showered & flattened. Drew a heart on someone's back in highlighter (makeup, not marker).
Phone jumped from apparent 70% to 7% when trying to take a picture of flopped Yellface.

And Lowe's did not have the requisite rental; Belovedest going to HD.
I've got to say that HD's website is better than Lowe's.
Dismantled a bit of cardboard.
The wide transparent plastic magnetic chip clips did not survive the dishwasher.
Belovedest came back from HD with a nice hella big floor washer. They washed the floor, after checking in with me and carefully pinning me in to the bedroom because one of the bookcases had to go somewhere.
I did a little re-arranging and got out to go to the bathroom, then thought about one of the Craigslist posts I saw, about some chairs. I got into some going-out-but-hauling-shit clothes, then realized the time limit on the post was 4pm, and I was never going to make it there by then.
Belovedest finished up the washing and came out to have a food and drink and relax. I kept going through postings, with a few things in mind. Then I saw a second posting from the same people. New time limit: 6pm, but today was still the last day.
We hauled ass. Unfortunately I didn't navigate as well as I should have, and we wasted time going around the wrong parking lot.
However, IKEA was there, and we did need some things to finish the room swap (including power cables and spare parts for a bookcase). So we popped in, only to learn by the time we got back around to the front that we were too late to get the spare parts.
Home we went. I made the executive decision to stop at Papa Murphy's to take out a big sammich pizza. I asked Alex to preheat the oven.
Belovedest went back into the red room to look at the carpet. The part that was littered was very, very clay. They came back out and we talked a bit.
I went in and looked at the edges of the carpet, where you could pull it up to inspect the hardwood underneath. I opined that this is nice hardwood.
Soooo the carpet's coming up. Belovedest is in there now with the tools of the trade (hammer, prybar, screwdriver, staple chomper, rubber mallet, water bottle, expendable sandals, eye protection), banging and occasionally cursing. Yellface is weaving in and around, mrowling a bit.
I'm going to fetch Belovedest out in about half an hour for pizza or something.

I get to rip carpet out of a room of my house tomorrow; unfortunately, I have to put flooring back in, because apparently, bare concrete is not acceptable as a flooring option. :)
