Fuckin' desk chairs.
My Costco desk chair, with the new-ish rollerblade wheels, has just at least partially died.
The main factor was the glass chair mat, and falling off of it. The process for getting back up put a lot of sideways stress on the parts of the bottom holding the wheels, and the plastic holding one of the wheels in failed the other day. Using a desk chair with four wheels is ... not great.
Belovedest helped reposition the glass chair mat, and I'm reasonably assured that I won't be falling off in the near future. So I decided to address the wheel-holding-in part with Sugru, yesterday.
This afternoon, it failed again, and that seems as though it has failed me for the last time. I don't want to engage with it any further. The arms have been ripped up substantially (I could fix this with the right kind of tape, not duct tape) and the cushion is ... Bad. (I could also address this by adding supplementary cushioning.) I am just ... disliking the chair more and more.
Right now I have pulled out my bouncy-ball and am working from that. It's too short for the desk, which cannot be adjusted. (Old extremely metal desk.)
My preference is to get rid of the fucking chair (the amount that I hate the seat is difficult to overstate), put the rollerblade wheels in the tall blue chair, and pull tall blue chair 2 (of 3) from the downstairs. I could be talked around to another position but it would take some convincing.
Unrelated, I am cranky that Apple is discontinuing the iPod. https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2022/05/the-music-lives-on/

Scene from your biopic?
AZURELUNATIC: Chair, you have failed me for the last time!
AZURELUNATIC presses a red button on their desk phone. A trapdoor opens beneath CHAIR, which then drops several feet into a cage containing several angry gorillas.
AZURELUNATIC releases the red button, and the trapdoor closes. Gorilla screams and the sounds of splintering wood and tearing fabric prompt a cackle of glee.
Re: Scene from your biopic?
Chairs, arggh!
I need to find one that fits better, but I hate chair shopping.
