Part of the road to work is blocked off. Flares & silently blinking police cars. Wonder how long they'll be.

I walked over to the policeman and mentioned that I worked over yonder, and I was wondering how long it would take for the stuff to get cleared away out of the intersection. I clarified that I was the attendance clerk and I was wondering how much I'd need to account for it in the counting of lates; would it be gone in an hour?

Oh, no. More like five hours. And -- did I park my car somewhere random?

Oh, no. I walk.

And I was smiled and nodded off to work.
