And when I awoke, I asked Adam if he'd heard me casting the circle in my sleep.
We (Jase from work, Nephew, a few others, and I) were traversing the staircase universe, made up of every flight of long and twisty back staircases from my childhood. It's gone beyond a dream into a universe, that one -- it shows up every now and then, and you have to go through it to get somewhere. There are elevators there, too, the sort that live in dorms, and the twisty rickety high buildings with turbolifts like the starships. The stairs and bizarre layout from the engineering department, ah yes. The fire stairs, northwest, from the Elvey Building's striped original tower, with the annex new when I was barely beginning to comprehend blinkenlights.
There are roads, there, and the stairs from the Gruening Building, and all the concrete and basements, and sometimes a lawn to recharge from. The highway splits at Anchorage. Busy, bustling, all in transit. Calling all in transit. Up the stairs and to the landing, up the stairs and through the hallway. Asbestos removal, must go around. Down again, down once more to the Dungeon. Down we plunge through the prison of my mind. Votania was there, for once, with her shining staff, mutated in this world to ebony with crystal. Ebony and copper. Long shining hair, raven's wing black.
When I cast Circle, a representative creature of each element arrived. "And you're surprised why?" one of them asked. Fire? Air?
Alarm clock.
Reset, returned to Circle.

Got a nice nap, a nice four hour one. Kept getting woken by Adam on cellphone and this and that, but otherwise very nice.
Decided work was toast today because of my general coughing every three seconds issue.
When Adam left school at some time after five, Darkside was still there hacking away at program. Hope m'love got home safely.

My latest whack at gaming:
Jan. 10th, 2002 10:45 pmAdam has given me the Bejeweled addiction. The other evening I decided to take a whack at the game, since it looked simple and fun.
My third game lasted over an hour and a half, and racked me up to level 11, forty-nine thousand plus points, more than 40,000 points more than Adam's highest score.
Adam accused me of already being an expert at the game before playing it. Nope, no cheating here. Just a good education from the Gifted and Talented section of Alaska's public school system, a good brain, and good luck with pattern matching games.
