Thanks, guys
Jun. 5th, 2002 10:21 amThanks for wishing me a happy birthday. It didn't quite work as well as it might have (drama, drama, more drama, and abysmal communication skills; I woke up in the middle of the night and started hitting myself; Adam wasn't too happy about that) but the bits of it that didn't involve drama were great. Except for some of it I was majorly stressed/exhausted/depressed...
Ack.
In any case, I made it to 22. W00t.

All in the Presentation
Jun. 5th, 2002 01:24 pmSlept in because Sheldon had cancelled class. Evidently Sheldon's class following mine (he's been sitting in with the Controls & Securities class, the one that Darkside has, the one with the really cute normal instructor, Sandstrom) cancelled the class on him. Word to the wise: if you give the class a choice of whether to hold class as normal or let them work on their senior projects? Senior projects get priority.
Darkside had a presentation today; he was therefore all spiffed up: charcoal grey suit, nice white shirt, professional type tie, hair back in ponytail, shaved. Looked remarkably non-scruffy.
I plotted to and succeeded in crashing Darkside's presentation. Informally and unobtrusively, of course. Came into classroom, sat down in the back row, looked very quiet.
Beforehand, I got the attention of one of Darkside's group members, and asked very quietly which room presentations were in today. "203", he replied.
"Oh, no," Darkside said. "You told her where we're going to be?" I grinned at him. "I'll just have Mr. Wright kick you out", he told me. Mr. Wright is the instructor for their project. I get on with him well. I grinned at him some more.
He knows my sense of humor and feared that I'd mess up his concentration by making faces at him or something. Dawn attempted to convince him otherwise, but as she's the sweet sort of person who has a hard time believing that any of her friends could do anything less than nice, Darkside remained unconvinced.
His presentation came off fairly well. Few people in his class group know him well enough to read how very nervous he was; his more outspoken group member expressed the thought to me that he might do well as a sales representative or something like that. Darkside? Sales rep? The two just don't go together.
The day before yesterday (the day before my birthday) was Darkside's dad's 50th birthday. Many jokes were made and much fun was had. According to Darkside, that is.
Dawn wanted to know was I all right, today. I still don't feel much like discussing the stuff about yesterday. That's odd, for me.

Worked out
Jun. 5th, 2002 06:04 pmAfter school, came home and eventually wound up working out with
votania and
marxdarx. Played with the weight machines (Votania and Marxdarx had the two weight keys, so lifted the default minimum) and then went on the exercise bike for ten minutes. Am planning to go work out with Votania tomorrow.
Am gradually getting around to adding back people who have added me as friends. Welcome to reading the oddnesses that comprise my life: those and the utterly mundane boring bits as well.
Will be making pizza when the kitchen's a little more cleared out. Set Adam to clearing the dishes out of the dishwasher. Thanks, dearie. <hug>

Converting the clueless, one by one
Jun. 5th, 2002 06:18 pmHad some Mormon missionaries stop by, two young women who looked like the sun was just beating them all to hell. Invited them in. They offered me Jesus; I offered them popsicles. They accepted the popsicles; I explained that I was Wiccan.
They asked me a few questions about Wicca; they've run into a few Wiccans before; I explained politely. They wanted to know was I interested in learning more? No, not really. They thanked me for the popsicles; I thanked them for stopping by. They left.

Pizza Night!
Jun. 5th, 2002 07:38 pmMaking pizza now, an individual pie for everyone. Nephew and Marx are making theirs first. I sent
digitalambience on a cheese run to the store. Mmm. Pizza.
The first three crusts are done and out of the oven; there are two more to be done; there's one in there right now, and one unbaked.
votania's putting toppings on hers right now. Adam's playing Dungeon Seige (again).
