Despite the sleepy-depression, feeling just happy this morning. Time spent with Darkside is a good thing.
He didn't know something that I told him; it sprang from the discussion of how he should perhaps avoid the general area where Votania's going to be until she no longer wishes to hurt him. I hope it helps, that he knows now.

Waiting for English class to start. Should get lunch at some point.
Darkside told me to RTFM when I asked him, my beloved database guru, how to comment SQL code in Access. I told him, later, that I'd read it, but it hadn't had much about databases in it... He didn't know, either, actually. I asked Humphrey, and she didn't know. I suspect there might actually not be.
Cool in here, after sweating heavily on the field trip. Should have brought water bottle. Idiot 'Ni.

Hee. I am cool.
Aug. 26th, 2002 02:59 pmWorking on an image in the computer lab; asked the cool chick teacher if she had a moment for art review. Yes, she did. "Does it look like him?" I asked, indicating the image. Yes, in fact, it did; she didn't even need to ask who the drawing was of.
Next up on the image quest: Bill Collins from Gunsmith Cats.

Hot, hot Arizona sun
Aug. 26th, 2002 06:45 pmWent to the 23rd Ave wastewater treatment facility. Fun place to visit; wouldn't want to live there. Note to self: next time going on a field trip, bring water bottle and sun hat. Had neither, and suffered greatly. AJ was complaining about his sweaty balls. AJ is just like that. Learned that the one in Phoenix is pretty much like the one in Fairbanks, except larger, laid out outdoors, and they have to cool the digesters sometimes to keep them at a nice comfy 98oF. And it was also less fun to walk around.
Walking home after English class, there was a guy on the northwest corner of 19th & Dunlap with a sign. Evidently a veteran, with nowhere to turn. My plastic bottle was full of cold water. He needed it. He needed some symbolism that the rest of the world was still filled with people with at least a few of the same things to deal with as he did, and somewhere out there, someone cared about what he was up to. Walking by, I put it in his hands and walked on.
The sun was hot today.

Gotta love those idiots. http://books.dreambook.com/darkbright/lair.html ...Those latest two are evidently people with a little too much time on their hands.
Hee: I am a good Auntie.
Aug. 26th, 2002 08:01 pmNephew ate approximately twenty square inches of lettuce leaf before tucking into dinner. The trick is to serve only the greens, wait until they're eaten, and then serve the rest of dinner. He's currently enjoying a bowl of ice-cream with gummy bears, as he ate his dinner, including the lettuce, without fuss other than the initial "But I don't want lettuce!"
He's learning fast.
He's learning fast.
It's almost that time...
Aug. 26th, 2002 09:19 pm...where Nephew is old enough to do e-mail by himself.
In the interests of anti-spam and privacy, I have poked nose into some of the options available with Yahoo (my personal favorite for free mail) and will be setting filters for each e-mail address allowed to send stuff to him, so he should only actually be getting to see messages from Grandma, Auntie Azz, and Mommy. All else will be filtered to the trash.
All that remains, really, is getting the go-ahead from Mommy.
Nephew's learning his letters on the keyboard. It's so sweet...
