Tomorrow morning, I shall hit school early, and finish up the Management thing.

Then, I shall overcome Web with a few deft keystrokes.

After that, I shall come home and nap.

Then, I shall dress in a spiffy fashion, go to school early (again), and collaborate with my scheming teammates on the presentation.

I have again succumbed to the lure of paid market research... this time, from the consumer side of things. I know how it works, so I'm an excellent, and cooperative, subject. I'm currently reviewing product X in the kitchen, and will get a call back in maybe a couple weeks to see how it's doing, and then I signed up with this other place, and they'll probably wind up sending me some of product Y to try out.

Things should be interesting around here.

I could feel, this time, the fluttering around the edge of myself that means that Darkside's link is wide open and active, more so than usual.

Why?

The long, interesting conversation with [livejournal.com profile] yaksha42. [edited to include newly-acquired LJ username.]

All of Darkside's protective modes come on when I'm talking with a new male. Very elder-brotherly of him. Or something. It happens every time, and it's keyed to the necklace, in some odd way... that's the most prominent physical representation of the link.

He gets protective of me. I think the only male person he trusts to deal correctly with me is [livejournal.com profile] ralmathon. Others seem to have their presence noted/logged, and tolerated on the condition that they do not hurt me. New men are investigated, usually found to be lacking but tolerable given the usual conditions, and treated normally thereafter.

There are a few people who still cause Darkside to bristle and become grouchy about.

I have only guesses as to how Darkside would treat [livejournal.com profile] ralmathon if there were a chance that instead of me just having a boring normal crush on him, that [livejournal.com profile] ralmathon might date me. I suspect it might be a lot less friendly.

You want curmudgeon? You got curmudgeon. One of my old childhood neighbor-types was in this dream, who had an isolated lodge, having left clues for us to get to it. The clues being subtle, there was a huge argument over them, and he wound up taking us there, on a wild ride that included using a high-voltage high-tension power line as a rollercoaster track. We had to discharge frantically as we were heading off it towards the ground.

Once we were there, there wasn't much to do, so he left... we spotted what had to be done, and hung the banner that he'd made for Yule, which of course was written in Dwarvish. (I see part of my evening came back to haunt me.) With me were two other people, some random male and [livejournal.com profile] sithjawa, I think, both of whom were arguing with each other. I mostly stayed out of it.

Woke up at 5:45 and sleep was no longer an option.

...Having done the thing with the Management, and the Web, it is now time for my nap. Or, it will be, when the noisy leaf-blowers go away.

They are yucky and disgusting and I like grass that can be raked a fuck of a lot better than blowing stuff around, which just moves it elsewhere and pollutes my nose.

...you see an interesting panel ad in your free web-based e-mail interface, you click, intrigued... and then get pissy when you get a JavaScript run-time error.

So you go to the manufacturer's website and request them to fix their ad/correct Yahoo's implementation of same.
