This probably won't be the last time I see people going through major changes. This rambling will probably appear, in altered form, when I publish.
Any seemingly minor change in surroundings, circumstances, or self-perception, as well as landmark experiences, can be the trigger of great, sometimes catastrophic, changes. While the trigger event may seem insignificant to an outsider, there is no telling what interesting events may unfold in an individual person as a result.
Someone going through extensive change is apt to feel out of control, and very bizarre about the whole thing. Whether it's a willing change or a change that's just happening or a change happening very much against one's will, it's still very weird to feel things that have been absolutely certain suddenly changing.

Good Lunatic: exercise, cleanup.
Jan. 19th, 2004 07:31 pmI figured out a way to multitask my way into good habits.
It's a combination of Flylady, an article I just read on the American Diabetes site, and good old-fashioned fun, plus my inability to sit still with good dance music on.
The master plan: Go to Digitally Imported and turn on the EuroDance channel. Set timer for thirty minutes. Dance while cleaning up and doing assorted housework. Keep working until timer goes off.
It's sneaky enough to psych me into doing it. Now, if I can just keep doing so every day...

Show & Tell
Jan. 19th, 2004 07:56 pmI got
wibbble's postcard! Yay longhorn cattle! They look so cool! I had storybooks with them in it when I was a kid, and I always liked the look of them.
Little Fayoumis will be taking the postcard to school tomorrow for show & tell, after, of course, a judicious slip of paper was applied with tape over the word "bastard" (not a first-grade safe word). Dude! A postcard from Scotland, from a guy who lives on the same street as a famous author! Nothing cooler in the world!
...well, a few things, but it's high on the list of cool.
