Living or camping?
Jun. 15th, 2005 04:11 amI slept in late, because I was up so late with the slumber party, and then wound up reading more even after I could have fallen asleep. Since today was not a day for me to get much done outside the apartment, I decided I might as well get a few things in order.
I bought a shelf a few weeks ago, and finally assembled it today. I hung pictures. I picked things up off the floor. I taped bumper stickers to the inside of the door. I did laundry. I hung lights above my bed canopy. I installed a better reading light for bed. I pulled all my good clothes out of the plastic under-bed boxes that don't actually fit under the bed and hung them up in the closet. I wrote a little gen piece about Snape, the usual Slytherin suspects, and the Badgers song.
Spending a few days away from here, and then spending so much time at work and hanging around with friends makes me realize that there's still a part of me that doesn't really think I'm living here yet. I'm treating this place sort of like a dorm room, not a place that's actually my home.
I sit at the computer. I sleep on my bed. My things are in the bathroom, and the shower works. Things are shoved haphazardly into the kitchen storage areas. I still live online more than I inhabit this apartment.
