In the last 24 hours, I posted the following to Twitter:

• Sunday, 2356: @merfilly For me, it's mostly on bad phone connections or with accents I can't parse on the bad phone connection. Another language is fine.
• Sunday, 2359: @merfilly But since I ought to understand English because I primarily think in it, & if I have to struggle at it, this leads nowhere good.
• Monday, 0001: @merfilly If it's a word I don't know or said/transmitted unclearly, I may just get the vowels or notes.
• Monday, 0007: @merfilly So because I was exposed to a lot of Mandarin Chinese as a kid but I only have a few words, the sound is comforting & relaxing.
• Monday, 0009: @merfilly I don't have to run my audio to words processor, and that is much less brain strain; my few words of it are not written.
