Saturday 2/12
I came up with the concept of an Indiana Jones fanvid to Aqua's "Dr. Jones", with the framing story being an academic type asleep and dreaming of being Indy.
Later, I went to a game night at my aunt's. Great fun was had by all.
There was a fruit plate, and I tried some of what I thought was an unfamiliar melon. I inhaled the scent, and it smelled like ass. Since I was Being Brave About Food, I figured that some fruits do smell bad but taste excellent, and maybe this was one of them. I took a bite.
I immediately told Twitter:
I need to know what this melon is so I can never eat it again. Ass-melon. I politely asked my aunt what kind of melon it was. It was not melon, but papaya. I shared this with Twitter, who quickly told me that a) this was a common failing of papaya, b) this was why some people never touch the stuff, but c) not all papayas are like this, so d) do not judge all papayas by the ass-melons.
Afterward, I told my aunt about the "ass-melon" part of things, which was hilarious and excellent.
Sunday 2/13
I discovered that you can patch "Take Me Apart" (the cautionary ditty about telportation from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) to be a little less "Paging Dr. Heteronormative": "Ron stole Sidney's heart away, and I got Megan's leg."
I picked up some cough medicine and dropped it off with the guys, because poor Teshipants was very sick. :(
I had thinky-thoughts in the shower about those obnoxious and misandrist commercials where a guy is completely incompetent at some basic skill but then a woman comes through and fixes everything. In addition to being misandrist by being all "men are dumb", they are also sneakily antifeminist because what, it's not possible to show a woman being smart without contrasting her against a really dumb guy? She wouldn't look smart enough if a regular guy was struggling? (And also, the message that women have to take care of the everyday household chores because guys aren't capable of doing them is counterproductive as all hell.)
Monday 2/14
Valentine's Day is a happy day for me in general. I wore color (red) in celebration.
Work had Spreadsheets of Woe. The #fishpile had a #CORNUCOPIAOFLUBE, which converted it into a slip-and-slide of lube and chatfish.
