So Juls asked me how my day was going.
Feb. 3rd, 2012 12:16 pmI thought I'd share.
Today I am shoving ducks into a configuration such that their points could be assumed roughly linear. I am assisted by my general technical knowledge, and hampered by the fact that the working printer is a minimum of one flight of stairs away (and the choice for the rest of the hill is either another is another full staircase and two smaller sets, or a painfully sloped driveway), and this morning my choices were to go around the large delivery truck positioned to block the path (with curb cut) or to go down the remainder of the (painful) hill and up yet another flight of stairs (the front door stairs for the office are sort of optional as there's a side door and then the door to the rec room where the printer is). I opted for around the truck and playing tightrope on the curb and balancing with my cane, because stairs, ew.
(If I wind up on wheels, I'm moving.)
And then their version of IE is painful and antiquated, and their version of Adobe Acrobat Reader also, giving me various warnings about too-new file types that may not work well, and that's entirely without considering the I9 (which didn't open at all in that version) (any iteration of the I9 I tried, I thought "Oh, I'll just download a fresh one since that one got corrupted!" but noooooo) and then the office lady said to just email it to her, whereupon I found out that IE was intermittently crashing (I suspect faulty hard drive on account of the messages) and furthermore does not "browse" to your fucking flash drive upon which the thing is stored, WHEREUPON I TYPED IN THE FUCKER BY HAND, AS ONE DOES, which was a good thing because drag-and-drop is not supported by that version of IE.
But I have my fucking paperwork to sign and scan now.
