Nephew's watching Power Rangers: Wild Force now. I didn't know that there was a new one out. Shows how much I like the show. I never watched it as a kid; all my exposure to it was through the Fanboy Otaku Gamer's Club's Neoranger story (which is where the subject quote comes from: that's the cameo appearance of the cartoonist's best friend from high school, who's my best friend in college...)
Nephew's at that stage where he quotes commericals. I tell him that it's funny the first time.

Happy Housewife
Jul. 14th, 2002 08:55 amAlready today I've vacuumed the floor, given the kid his breakfast, and gotten the dishes out of the sink and into the "dirty" queue in the dishwasher, waiting for more dishes to accumulate to make it worth running the washer.
Next, I think, should be breakfast for me. I'm tired because I was up until two having fun... I felt like going to sleep at eleven, but events conspired against me.

Evil Party
Jul. 14th, 2002 09:56 amIt's never too soon to start planning. Dawn and I are plotting a graduation get-together for her and Darkside, on the 25th of October. So far, we're plotting anime in at least two flavors, maybe an RPG, and whatever else happens.
votania has claimed the position of Mistress of the Blender, and will be mixing refreshments, either unleaded or otherwise. Neighbor wants to be included in the planning, even though he won't be there to join in the party. Marx wants to help out. Adam and Bald Guy will probably want to be included in the party -- if I had AK's contact information, I'd see if he wanted to show. (He's the one who bonked Shrimpy when Darkside snipped the string of the virtual anvil.)
Dawn usually has successful things going on, partywise, so that should be my good luck charm. I'm leaving most of the plotting to her, in fact...

Clean Up & Throw Out
Jul. 14th, 2002 10:49 amWound up cleaning out the cupboards under the sink. All the TP that was stacked on the floor got stacked inside, and I discovered that it took up most of the south half of the cupboard. I don't think I'll need TP for a while. I had to move the towels to somewhere else, and I uncovered my cannister of honey dust, which I still haven't gotten to use.
My towels are folded. I had to clean out a shelf to make room in the cupboards. I think I have too much makeup, because I keep getting it, but never using it.
Maybe I should polish my nails. I think blue is a good color.

Nephew's piled the cushions from the couch into a fort, and is curled up inside, after a long morning of jumping up and down on them. I have the TV on to the local WB; there were cartoons all morning and now it's a science program. After this, the TV will go off; I just kept it on for the science program at the end of the cartoons.
He's learning more and more every day.
After this, lunch. I think that's a good plan. Maybe there will be a nap after lunch. Dessert after lunch, provided there is not behavior that will lead to the revocation of dessert: bad behavior designed to obtain dessert results in no dessert whatsoever, just like bad behavior to obtain other treats leads to not getting any of that.

Just Desserts
Jul. 14th, 2002 02:16 pmFinally, done with lunch. Dessert is being enjoyed: spice drops, and the sole remaining gummy worm, with a few jelly beans. There was some carrot with lunch. Nephew is pouring his own milk and juice now: he's careful enough to not spill now. Yay!
I think I'll slice up one or two of the apples that need to get used up and have them about for snacking on. Mmm, apples.
My bathroom's becoming more and more livable. I'm sorting stuff by category again, and some of the things are in fact getting thrown out. Amazing. The baby powder just got consolidated: screwdrivers to pry off lids are helpful.
Some of the sharp little things from outside are getting tracked inside. Nephew is finishing off the raspberry-kiwi juice: as per Votania's instructions, I will not make orange juice, because she needs to get things done when returning from work, not have screwdrivers.

Wine Dine 409 Me
Jul. 14th, 2002 02:54 pmGave the kitchen floor a perfunctory scrub. Won't be walking in there for a while: floor's all wet now. Got the most of the dishes rinsed and in the washer waiting for more.
I'm thinking about completely re-arranging the living room. If I moved the bookshelves from where they are now, I might return the couches to the cozy corner structure, but that would entail moving the hub. That could be done, though. It would mean a lot of work, though, and I'm not sure I want that kind of committment today to rearranging the house. It's already almost three, and I haven't even gotten my own room done, though it's getting closer than it was. I used some of the old exfoliating facial scrub I found in one of the bathroom drawers. We'll see if that works wonders for my complexion or not.
Today really needs incense.
