Job....?

DeVry's newspaper needs an editor.

Well.

Guess what job would be just perfect for me?

If my 2.54 GPA is up to standards, I think I may have the job, as I rose up and slayed an example of plagiarization in front of my would-be new boss. She asked me for a writing sample and a resumé; I turned those in today. My writing sample was an excerpt from this discussion about Darth Vader.

It only pays $7.25 an hour, and is only 20 hours per week, but at this point, I just need a job.

Going to try hard and realize with heart as well as head that when Darkside tells me to go away, it's because he's an introvert and needs his space, not because he doesn't like me, and if I give him his space when he needs it, he'll be more willing to spend time with me.

...Sometimes it's harder to convince the pit of the stomach of hard facts.

Doing a summary paper for English class, head-on, full-tilt.

I'm only a little way away from done with it, and I need a nap, a shower, and another book to take the godsawful stench of marriage out of my head.

Ahhh...

I love deep conversations.

The short bit I put in yesterday about Doc Smith and feminism, and how the two really shouldn't be crossed, has spawned a discussion about the effects of Heinlein on the developing female psyche (mine), and random character critiques of some of Heinlein's characters, and the like.

It's fun.
