The Viking didn't show; by 10:30, I figured he likely wouldn't, and headed for the store. Returned with assorted things, including chicken nuggets (there are still a few boxes in the freezer) and haircare stuff. My hair is starting to get horrible split ends, ones that are above and beyond normal. I got my hair trimmed just a few weeks ago: it should not be this bad yet.

Lately, I've been having reading crises. I can't seem to find anything in book form around the house that I'm interested in reading. I think it's a phase.

But I'm happy with putting new goop on my hair. Remaking myself, bit by bit... what I wanted, Mabon 2001, was a lot of things, and I'm beginning to realize them.

Am getting The Feeling, the not-good one.

And I have called the police on your yelling asses. Your loud, drunken, profanity-laced hostile asses. I can hear you through the closed window asses. After you chose not to listen to me when I told you that it was four in the morning and you should shut the hell up. Not to mention the apartment complex manager's machine.

Morning again. Should call Votania, and then Dawn will be coming by and we will be Doing Stuff, if I feel up to it.

I'm not sure if I am, just yet.

"Hi, this message is for Votania... things are going pretty good here, I only had to call the police once, talk to you later!"

I like unsettling her family.

Started re-reading Deep Wizardry. I never got to use my mom's hot-curlers on the neighbor's Red Setter! No fair! ....Though I did use a variant on Dari's trick, once I learned it.

Dawn called and worried about me. I'll be OK, I just needed more sleep last night, and to wash my eyes again, as they were dry and gritty and painful. I'll call her back after I get my nap.

Looks like there are another two mondo bottles of whiskey or tequila going into the Noisy Apartment, and a bottle of red stuff that looked like the raspberry schnapps on sale at the Fry's. Oy.

Cats...

You know how cats are about strings. The string on the blinds of Votania's bedroom window are knotted together, and were left resting about halfway up. Shamash saw the pretty string...

I heard the unmistakable sound of the blinds being pulled up, started running to investigate, then saw Shamash shooting out of the room with all due speed and more. He disappeared under something in the living room.

He's still hiding.

Votania's dealing with her family.

We may try and spend Yule in Alaska.

...the noise from the Noisy Apartment seems to consist of "Fuck you!" in a female voice, and the sounds of slapping. Repeatedly.

Yaaay!

Grandma yelled at Nephew. Not the usual sort of scolding he gets when he's done something wrong, where we explain, after we get surprised and maybe shout, "Shut the door!" and then explain that he just let the dog out, and it's an inside dog, and the dog shouldn't go outside, and he's a big boy, and so forth... but yelled at.

Grr.

The cat's come out of his hiding spot.

Who knew that ordering delivery could be such an adventure?

Today being the Sunday of a three-day weekend with the third day being a Monday, almost every place they called was either closed, or not delivering, for whatever reason.

It'll be here in maybe half an hour, finally.

I have a candle burning, white, with Healing Spirit oil for his back, and Healing Heart for his heart. Though he doesn't need an operation, this is still yet not over.

Charlie Chaplain is funny.

In other news, since I am more ill than I've been in a long time, Votania and Marx did my laundry. I'm glad they came home today. I would have otherwise fallen apart by now. Instead, I'm quite spaced on the combination of blocked sinuses and the medication supposed to fix same.

Peppermint tea is excellent for me. Votania's discovered that it is peppermint that I like, and not spearmint. I have humidifier on. This will hopefully help make it more easy for me to breathe.

I miss Darkside.

I do watch TV now, again.

Malcolm In The Middle is a good thing. I like the unorthodox weirdness that is somehow so very familiar. Not that my family was anything like that -- rather the opposite, in fact.

There's just something about a functional family that is not the model of perfection and decorum, and isn't actively obnoxious either. Narcissa and I acted like the boys sometimes, come to think of it.
