Dragged in barely-not-late to the sight of two somewhat officious supervisor-types (Snarky Lady Monitor Supervisor and Trader Joe's Fiend Monitor) standing in the hallway making sure that no one swiped in and then headed out for the break room. Since I always swipe in and go directly to check in, I was annoyed (mildly) to be yarghed at to do what I was doing already; I don't swipe in until I've gotten my water and all.

I was on the wall looking floral after I checked in. I turned out to be monitoring after all -- Pseudo-Emo Monitor didn't show.

I was maybe half an hour in when Snarky Lady Supervisor marched in to tell me that Problem Child had requested a booth shift, and to be sure that I got him. Heh. Evidently I am not the only one who has noticed that Problem Child is or has a problem or two.

I suspect if they could say "So-and-so was sent home for being a jackass today", they would have. Instead, people get sent home for high refusal rates and low production.

Lunch saw [livejournal.com profile] othercat looking over my cute little adventure with Captain Davidson and the Jellybeans. It's a newt problem in the end, I'm sure. I'm very sure. The only problem is how to get it from here to there. It's an evil crossed-over bunny, but an original character, original universe.

They got out at one; I got out at two. Trader Joe's Fiend Monitor had had some computer issues earlier; I helped her with them. She got an ASP Error of Doom. I'm not surprised that she'd never seen Error 500 before. She pointed out later that she and I were like night and day. I pointed out our common love for Trader Joe's and coffee -- but even our coffee habits are different. She drinks it religiously in the morning, and I drink it recreationally at night.

We're to go out and see Shark Tale as soon as everybody's ready to go. I'm thinking we'll probably do supper afterwards.

I tried calling my blonder half; as scheduled, he was off gaming. He'd planned to play a necromancer. This is his gaming buddy from work.

The Little Fayoumis has been on fall break for a few days; right now, he's being very uncooperative over some math. I still think I have the best tactics for getting him to want to work, but I'm shuffled off into an administrative position, and I have no real authority.

Even though I'm the best teacher in the household.

Bitter much?

Obedience

A good 70% of the problem is that the Little Fayoumis is used to obeying me immediately. If I say "frog", he jumps. I have him very well-trained.

So we're working on getting him to obey them with the same speed and accuracy. They've been practicing. Whenever he fails to obey now, instead of getting in serious bad trouble, he admits his mistake and asks for them to tell him something so that he can do it.

It'll take time, but there's already serious improvement. Just today.

I'm reading the spell-checked electronic library version of the latest LKH Anita Blake. I wanna be Marianne. I think I'm about halfway there.
