Old stuff: Sept 19th-24th.
Oct. 14th, 2010 03:41 amSunday, September 19th:
The concept of a Dreamwidth musical is hilarious. One of the numbers would be "HEY MARK", which involves startling trumpets. There is an Open Beta Party theme, which has vuvuzelas and reprises.
Also, I had to edit "interbutts" out of a suggestion I was making, because really, Azz?

[apropos of undertones in a conversation with Certain Best Friends] Oh god, do we have to go into the "your kink is not my kink, but your kink is okay" thing again?

It baffles me deeply that the original crew who showed up at Dreamwidth were of the "Hooray, you'll let OpenID folks do more with the site!" ... and now some of the new folks are in the "Alas, OpenID can hardly do anything at all!" and some of them are "D: OPENID GETS TO DO TOO MUCH OMG WUT!! D:"

I learned that the week of September 20th was No Makeup Week, a challenge/pledge: go one week without wearing makeup, show your naked face to the world, examine your relationship to makeup. I wasn't sure whether I would take the actual pledge, because I didn't think it would make much difference whether I did or not. It would not make much of an impact on my typical week. Though I do not count lip balm, particularly un-tinted and not particularly high-gloss lip balm, as makeup. In Alaska and Arizona, no matter how much water I drank, I'd still get cracked and bleeding lips if I didn't have a tube of lip balm on me at all times. But my typical week does not involve any situations where I feel that makeup is mandatory, and left to my own devices, a lot of weeks I don't even contemplate wearing makeup. My standards of highest self-care include making sure that my face is washed and free of pollutants every two waking hours, not putting even more goop on.

My masculinity and I had been irked about the flat tire. My mobility's been suffering lately, and I had thought that putting the stupid little spare on would tax me a lot more than it actually did. Hello, nice upper body workouts! My masculinity felt better after that. The only real problem was the spliter I got in my left index finger. Then I made it to JD/Ryan's on time to see Glee.
That got me into some half-formed thoughts about my masculinity. I apparently have a masculinity. It doesn't really extend into my sense of style very much, but I've got a masculinity, and it can be wounded, and it sulks an awful lot. It's got pride, it's got self-sufficiency, it's got Feats of Strength, it likes singing, it's good with kids. It isn't a fan of the draft.

It wants a title like: "Current Local Amendments to Rule 34 on Federation Starship Enterprise [blah blah blah]" but I can't figure quite the right bit.

Have posted Federation Legal: Starfleet General Order 10945.1312.b: Concerning Standing Orders from Ships' Commanders: Registry Number NCC-1701 (Enterprise), Under Command of: James T. Kirk, stardates 2258.43-present: Rule 34: Sub-Orders and Amendments
The 23rd was Bisexual Visibility Day. I tried to be visible.
