Bye, bye Berry Blue

As predicted, I slept well last night. There was an extremely strange dream set in another world that slopes (the hillside one, not the hallways one) with a cat who was originally Escape Calico but then somehow had always been a bird. Her parents were a black and white tom and a mostly white calico.

Lest I look back and think that I did nothing, I:

- caught up some on my daily social readings, including IRC
- wrote the times of day and expiration dates on miscellaneous prescription bottles from at least four different pharmacy paper sacks
- chatted with Nora, who is in the range of 90% moved
- grated the last of one of the sacks of carrots because I wanted a slaw
- apropos of that, unpacked and started washing the parts for the shredder attachment, only a month after I got them
- put away dishes in advancement of same
- washed dishes in advancement of same


Mixing berry blue jello with cherry jello and canned peaches does not notably improve any of these items. C--, will not repeat. It's a weakened cherry flavor, lacks the simple clarity and color of the uninspired water-blue one, and does not mesh well with the peaches.

Still on my docket: stuffing Yule-y items into an additional box to go downstairs. But first, I think, tea.

- made an entire blue pot of herbal tea with the tea from that wedding plus one of the less-loved blackcurrant bags
- yanked several things out of the jaws of the Roomba
- stuffed all the garlands into an appropriately sized box and labeled it
- used the grinder to process the mirepoix for Alex's soup
- stuffed several objects from my scratch file into my journal at appropriate places

Grinder note: grind into prep bowl, not pot; drain some of the juices off so it will actually sautée

- washed the handwash only items from the grinder
- dried same
- made tea from the yellow tin for the chilly dragon plus tea (same) for me
- tested the mimosability of the prosecco in the fridge (good, but the bubble situation is Officially Weird due to reasons)

Heat pump on the blink since this morning early, even though I reset it yesterday. Made it nearly all the way through the night! Coincidentally, I mentioned yesterday that we'll have to exercise my Toaster soon, and just a few minutes ago I got the ping that it's having a totally normal one with the battery. Sigh.

Our pi hole (see: pi hole) went down the other day when Belovedest tried to add a domain (used for link shortening from the local transit agency) to the allow-list and it failed to write in a slightly catastrophic fashion. So we're raw-dogging the internet slightly more than usual right now.
