Games, cats, houses
Apr. 25th, 2022 12:07 amI have lit upon the idea of doing an album much like the household album of preferred/not-preferred foods, but for games. J&P have a couple bookshelves full, and sometimes we don't remember what we have or haven't played together, and what the opinions were.
Enter the album. From today's session on, I'm putting a picture of the box with emoji pasted on: an icon indicating the person, and an emoji hand gesture indicating the opinion. In the context of this album, green is P, blue is J, dragon is Belovedest, and black (for goth) is me.
We played Go Nuts for Donuts, 7 Summits, Metagame in Quilt Until We Run Out of Space On The Table mode, and everyone but me played something involving animals where a mosquito could become an elephant, but two mosquitoes could not become two elephants unless one of the mosquitoes was a chameleon.
Rain has emerged from solely hiding on the ledge overlooking the living room, and has come down to the cat tree and made occasional forays out into the rest of the living room while we were there. She came over and sniffed my bag and our dice bag, approached my feet fairly close, then walked along the back of the couch and put a tentative foot on my shoulder, then leaped back to make sure that something bad wasn't going to happen. Later she came over and touched her little grey nose to my hand and leaped back. She's adopted P as her human and was draped over him.
P was having shoulder woe; I helped with the lifting portion of the cooking process. Dinner was beef with onions, carrots, and mushrooms -- extremely tasty. I have sympathy about the shoulder fuckery. J ordered a sling after I said that when I fucked up my shoulder it needed total rest before it actually started getting better.
This morning we had a power outage, which woke up Belovedest. I slept through most of it. I did take the opportunity after my computer came back up to rename my log files to limit the size for just one file. That should speed Trillian up a bit.
It was warm enough that today was oven cleaning day as well. We opened the windows and closed our bedroom before we went off. When we got home, Yellface was upset that the bedroom was still shut. I opened it and she jingled over rapidly to make sure that her domain was in good order before coming back out, presumably to keep yelling at us.
At some point recently I realized that I had a BPAL gift card from Steph from 2020 that I actually hadn't done anything with. I got the box a little bit ago and I was prompt about getting the contents stuffed in my spreadsheet. I've been testing off and on. Today I went for a combination of some of the slightly less recent items, and it was good. Library of John Dee & June 23. Today's pins: Vaccinated rainbow on my jacket, I Came to Yell blue jay on my dress.
I really need to re-do my hair, but the bleaching process is a pain. Alas.
I came up with a game plan for the northeast corner of the basement and carpet washer rental. Steph can help! :D
Weirdly, I like to use slide decks for certain kinds of multi-step house-related things, because sections are much easier (for me) to rearrange, and there are limits to how much can fit on one slide, which means it can fit easier into a brain as well. I invited Nora into the one that I was building for Ev, since Nora has done the New Place Dance as well recently. Ev invited me into the photo album she's been compiling.
