Saddest Meep
Jun. 4th, 2023 11:24 amI woke up early and didn't seem like I was going back to sleep anytime soon. This meant that I was wide awake and working on filling my pill box (the Wheel of Pain) for the week ahead (this is not always a Sunday project) when Yellface came up to me, and explained in very small words (annoyed mewing and shaking her tail) that there was something wrong.
I scooped her up (she said Ow in a pained kind of way, not her normal conversational Ow) and set her on the deck of the litterbox. This was not what she wanted. She led me into the kitchen. I replaced her water. That was clearly not the answer. There's a stack of towels waiting to be washed; she sat down on that. There was a little spot. As I examined it, because it looked red, she went and sat on the carpet. Tiny wet spot.
Another scoop, another yell of discomfort. I filled another bowl with water, hauled her into the upstairs bathroom and shut the door behind us. She was not pleased to be closed into the room. I then went about removing most of the soft things from the floor (the sink mat's going to need to be washed because I didn't get it up in time, and the bath mat needs it even though it was unscathed) and spreading a puppy pad.
After I strewed some crumpled paper towels on the pad, she did use it.
Now it's time to bust out the Nature's Miracle.
She has been getting her wet food as soup ever since the last incident, but clearly something's going wrong. Might be a UTI, might not.
