Thigh, cat, household
Jun. 21st, 2023 03:48 pmMy right thigh is feeling maybe not fully fine, but at this point I can't tell the difference between pre-ouchie and post-ouchie, so I'm going to assume that my right hip is just still fighting with the invader.
Yellface has finished her prescription, thank goodness. We had the method pretty well down by the end of it, but she was pretty wary of us and did not like to be caught. (Belovedest did the catching, but I did the holding down for pilling.) She would still stand on us at bedtime, though.
The zucchini out front are flourishing and Steph reported flowers!
The hoses are old and leaky. We should probably do something about that, eventually, because gardens need watering.
Belovedest's eldest sibling let us know about a birthday surprise: baseball! In box seat comfort! For the family and a number of others. We'll see who responds to the first round of invitations, and from that see how many tickets are left to do a second round. (Actual baseball interest is not actually required: it's a small local team, and the main attraction is hanging out with the company, having food and drink, and occasionally being distracted from the conversation by an exciting baseball play.)
The comfortable commuter train doesn't run on weekends, and now Eldest knows that; it's good when Google Maps and I agree on the correct bus to be taking.
Shame-cleaning is coming along. Saturday saw a gigantic step forward, where Belovedest brought me a number of roughly/badly sorted boxes of things, and I sorted them into a much better order. Yesterday I addressed the letter board, which read "Bad boss yelling? Unionize! Fuck his* wife! No depression!" and changed the middle one to "Kiss his* wife!" Still saucy, but less likely to result in a Mom Glare for Belovedest (who is now approximately 2 decades out from under Direct Parental Supervision).
There are still things that need doing, but I'm calmer about that, even though the time available is shrinking.
norabombay sent me the Tumblr Ea-Nasir bracelet and a couple of totebags.
Hip appointment status: Waiting. No information on timeframe. BIG SIGH. Since I am likely to want A Notebook for this whole Saga, I went off to the Tumblr shop when the bracelet arrived and ordered the Color Theory Children's Hospital notebook, which will at least amuse me, and I'm the one who needs amusing here.
