"feel the door handle before opening it"
Aug. 16th, 2023 12:23 amI went outside partway through the day to warm my toes, and later to take a picture of the porch thermometer.
Both times, opening the front door released a wall of heat that had been trapped between the inner door and the storm door. Touching the metal handle of the storm door felt like I'd need pot holders to do it safely for more than a few seconds. If the storm door hadn't been glass I would have wondered if there was a fire on the porch that I had been unaware of.
The porch thermometer was reading upwards of 100°F when I poked my head out.
And (according to turkeys with their heads in the sand) Seattle doesn't "need" air conditioning.
