A bath full of candy?!
Oct. 4th, 2023 08:11 pmAfter the three weeks of daily radiotherapy, it's so nice to have a week or so where I can sleep as late as I'd like to, and only phone appointments to attend. On my way home from the penultimate appointment I'd stopped at a store between home and the appointment and got some treats. I'd aimed for an assortment of what they had, especially samples of the ones that were completely new to me.
Last night I helped finish up the Tuesday Night Is Trash Night chores in good time such that we were able to drop off a return before the place closed, and then hit up the mall for a mind-boggling assortment of gummy sweets.
My fellow 1990s kids may recall bath oil beads? The ones that came in little plastic bags and you often picked them out from a shop in the mall or whatever, and they might be round and the size of a medium-large marble, or shaped like little dolphins or something. You'd put them in the bath and the outer capsule would melt and the resulting situation would smell strongly of perfume and be a weird texture. Sometimes the beads would semi-melt in the bag or jar and stick to each other and leak. And they looked like they would be delicious but of course they were inedible?
There are now gummies with that same kind of translucent oily texture, and some of them have little pockets of fruit syrup inside, and if they're in a bag by themselves and haven't got bits of melted chocolate or grainy sugar on them, the experience of eating them out of the bag is almost exactly like how I'd secretly thought eating bath oil beads would be like.
Obviously I had to go back for some more once I'd tried them and found them good. My favorite are the peach.
