less tree, more shrub
Apr. 7th, 2024 10:40 pmThursday the 4th: scheduled appointment ride, followed by unscheduled appointment ride.
Friday the 5th: canceled appointment, then routine Friday shopping.
Saturday: Since I didn't get to sleep until sometime well past sparrow-fart, not much happened. I did match-3 PVP on my phone in bed, since there was an achievement I was trying to hit on my phone (vs. on the computer).
Belovedest and I are playing cooperatively on their account (we are somewhere past level 1500, so starting my own account would be Tedious) so we have the living room desktop Steam, my phone's google games account, and their tablet's google games account, which all need the achievements registered. Some things will register on the other machines after having done it once, but some things we need to do three separate times. Like hitting all 20 new PVP goals in a single week, it seems. I may attempt it next week too, and let them claim it on their tablet when it's ready.
Then I thought about the eclipse.
Sunday: I was actually awake at an hour compatible with business, so I got myself into clothes that I didn't care that much about getting dirty or possibly a little ripped, and hied me off to the (plant) nursery I'd been eyeing. They have made the delightful decision to position a bunch of garden carts near the entrance, so as you wander around looking at things you can plop a large pot full of plant into the cart and not have to lug it. So I grabbed a cart and started exploring. I knew they ought to have the right kind of camellia...
A short consultation later (no, it was actually my first time here, and I did have something in mind) and I was eyeing the selection of tea shrubs. I picked out two likely-looking ones and put them in the cart. The checkout hut was not too far away, and we chatted about the plant's needs (part shade part sun, not too gloomy, and we have another camellia around there so it should do fine) and then I hauled them off to my Toaster. They were short enough to fit inside just fine without having to tip them over, but I was glad that I'd hauled my walker out of the back before doing the loading.
I got home after a minor detour, unloaded the plants and reloaded my walker, had breakfast, thought about the eclipse, and PVP-ed until a) Horace and Vern had apprehended Rodney and his Spiderman underpants, and b) my victory point score was over9000 7500. I have set a reminder to myself for two years before the next total eclipse that goes over this continent that it's going to HAPEN. Happen. (In Alaska.)
