I am posting this unlocked because it's unlikely the researcher will locate the pseudonymous blog based on my health information. I got randomized into the wing of a study to figure out whether using a website (The Intervention) makes it easier for people in specific situations to Variously Cope. Part of getting into that wing of the study means I get to try using their website.

I am, as expected, running face-first into a number of usability issues, particularly some of the ones that would be less of a problem if brain fog and general Overwhelm didn't come as a nearly inevitable companion of the medical shenanigans.

And then Monday was three errands, one completed customer service call, and a pending one.
It looks like Fred Meyer's pharmacy may be experiencing a new thing in their system: a flag to make you talk to the pharmacist, possibly without listing the reason why, and that flag may only be cleared by the pharmacist. At least, if what the people on duty were saying was representative of the situation. The customer service call about that resulted in some store credit.
(Conclusion to the Medical Gothic of last update: the covering prescriber sent some antihistamine to the pharmacy, another 5 days' worth if needed.)
Home Depot's seasonal corner is as badly arranged as ever, and needs to result in a customer service complaint. Particularly as that meant that boxes were over the taped line that apparently represents the clearance. Employees are peeved about it too because they can't get their ladders back there. And there is never any consideration for extra clearance for turning the motorized cart. Plus the random boxes in the middle of aisles, making it impossible to get places or pass each other.
The second pharmacy was not a problem. (My favorite pharmacy tech from Fred Meyer pharmacy has moved, and I'm always pleased to see her.)

I dislike Security Ziplock Bags quite a bit. You have to pull on either side in order to unzip the unequally zipped center. It takes some grip strength, or probably pliers. ...Or scissors, in a household short on grip strength for small edges, and no people who would try to get at the candies without realizing that they are Special. (Bad ziplocks[' contents] get sent to the Naughty Bin!)

Sunday's errands were in service of trolling [personal profile] alexseanchai's mom, who richly deserves it. I searched The Bad Place for discount blue hair spray. Alas, there was none. I did return with some liquid fillable 2oz tree ornament bauble bottles, which are about the right size for me to consider using for marshmallow root infusion potion bottles. Bleh. Also they have some Top Rack Safe sparklies, which is an improvement on the previous sparklies.
I baked Pomme de terre et carrote avec les oink-oinks to much acclaim. (A variation on the old favorite -- "Potat" (cubed frozen potato from the restaurant supply store), baby carrots on the edge of going off, pork sausage, seasonings, baked in the cast iron pot until done, stirred every 20 minutes or so until the sausage was cooked through and the carrots were tender and could be cut with the silicone stirring implement.)

Belovedest had various conventions Friday through Sunday. Monday was much-needed horizontal floor time.

The Cancer Commute Book Club has finished Paladin of Souls. With some giggling all around. (Cranky Ista. ♥)

Finished Iron Flame which was fun; that series as always has a bit of the ol' ultraviolence. And a cliffhanger. We are still awaiting the sample for the 3rd volume.

I have finished Long Live Evil, and what I am willing to say outside of the Spoilers Zone (there may be spoilers in the comments) is that this book is heavy on the cliffhangers, and the end is a cliffhanger. YOWZA. I picked up on some of the foreshadowing, but other things were An Surprise.

Also reading a fic that was supposed to be finished ages ago according to the author's schedule. It's enjoyable enough that I'm reading it despite being unfinished (my reading backlog is deeeeeep, so I'm spoiled for choice) and despite some of the "wow, you were probably born no earlier than 1995 and you are active on Tumblr" authorial choices, and some of the spelling errors. But generally any SF/F thing is going to be challenged on automated spellcheck tools.

There is a new [personal profile] the_comfortable_courtesan serial, which is a great comfort in These Times.

Monday's Recreational Beverage was a combination of strawberry syrups (2 kinds), lime powder, melted blackcurrant candies a little affected by Damp, and a packet of blackberry lemonade drink powder. Belovedest pronounced it "Fruit punch, but one of the better kinds."
Tuesday's was my interpretation of Mama's college beverage "Russian Tea" -- black tea, Tang, Atomic Fireball cinnamon candy, and sugar. (Hers was apparently honey, cinnamon black tea, and Tang, or something.)

I have not yet resorted to drinking Bailey's out of a shoe, but the year is young.
