Mmmm, Yule.
Dec. 16th, 2002 09:04 amWe are decorating the house in honor or the holiday. Bright lights for the return of the Sun (rather silly in Arizona, from an Alaskan's perspective), bright shinies for Raven (and Shamash), a nice green tree (mmm, Yule logs for stuff! Yay!) and LOTS OF GIFTS! Nephew is the addressee of most of them, but here and there are some for grown-ups. Mama sent a small box of things, all of which should be interesting. Some are clearly music.
votania is eager to see what book she got.
Breakfast was bagels with cream cheese. Was good and only had half a bagel, citing the sandwich I had at three as logical breakfast.

The living room has a Circle of lights, and it and the tree are controlled by the hall switch.
Ornaments drip from almost every possible space to put them.
Stockings are hung under the fish tanks and microwave with impatience, and the fireman mecha (complete with arm guards and a weapon) is constructed, lacking only insignia (FDNY, maybe?) and a hat. Cardboard boxes, paint, a sturdy knife (serrated steak knife, whee!) and duct tape. The hat we'll buy.
I'm predicting that that, and the Spiderman movie, are going to be the hits of the season. The armguards, being flimsy, will get lost and/or torn first thing, but the cardboard box will be used and had fun with and beat the hell up for as long as it lasts, which may be a surprising amount of time given that it's a sturdy box and duct tape will fix it readily.
I am all over pink spotted.
Shamash is playing with the ornaments. We hung only plastic ones within his reach, so at least we won't have glass shards for bare toes to find.
