In case the "Lunatic disappears into bathroom and does not emerge for an hour" was not clue enough, the hot water is back, however flakily. It transpires that it was not fully back in time for the redhead's shower a half-hour earlier. >.< At least my foot feels a little better. All yesterday it was feeling scrunked up -- cramped and nasty. Today it felt worse, and I was limping despite making the time to walk to work. I got it soaked, so it's not in immediate screaming agony, and some ibuprofen and I will be going to bed shortly.

The apartment was entered earlier for some kind of "water emergency" -- they were inspecting the bath tap. What for, besides emergency, I'm not sure. The sheet informing us of this was torn off a full page and left on the toaster, so I am guessing that it was not just us who they barged in upon.

I was tidying the kitchen a bit, and spotted the half-full plastic jar of blue glass pebbles. They were wet, so I couldn't well put them in my bag of shinies, and anyway, the area about here needed a bit of shining up. So I charged them with the awareness that magic is real and just around the corner if you know how to touch it, and distributed them among the gravel "lawn" that the apartment complex has.

There are plenty of kids who are going to be exploring around and picking up and poking rocks, and there's very little that's more cool than picking up a pretty shiny that can be all yours. I have a number of little treasures poked away back in Alaska.

I saw a little gecko chillin' on a window security screen while I was scattering my shiny bits of glass about. Yay gecko.

My latest personal development/artistic project is an attempt to learn to sing "Aka to Kuro".

Lyrics, transliterated layered with translated )

Learning to sing this is not such a futile pursuit as one might imagine, given that I do not know enough Japanese to get myself out of trouble. If I listen to the music and can read along with the Romaji, and can learn to sing the syllables, I'm there. I'd probably do better with sheet music, because then I can read the notes as well as the lyrics, but I'll eventually get it.

I have taken to using random lyrics from all sorts of things as post subjects. Somehow they manage to fit in some sort of bizarre and surreal way.

Yes, this happened at work.

38154 is a far better number of megabytes to be free in a 40 gig disk.

Sent her out on Wednesday. Got the knock on the door about an hour ago. Got the black shakes, as I'd been asleep in bed. I should have jumped up and down squeefully; that might have lessened the reaction.

Preparing to install now; formatting a nice 10-gig partition for the OS.

Installing OS. Formatting a tortilla for spicy chicken strips, cheese, dressing, and lettuce. This has become my favorite solution to "I need a meal, but I do not want to do anything that even slightly resembles cooking." Frozen pre-cooked chicken bits, cheese, dressing, and pre-shredded lettuce. Heat chicken in microwave. Put on tortilla. Apply condiments. (All of the other stuff besides chicken counts as condiments when prepared so.)

'k. Time to go to work. Thalia will be safe here at home Installing Shit.

Now that I have her back, and in working order (I think) I will get her fully up and running, then launch my campaign to seek compensation for that first interminable month of downtime. This here now was not much problem -- sent it Wednesday, get it back Friday -- that is more than decent, and I commend them for quick and accurate fixing there.

(All reasonably OK now, but OMG I was ready to explode for a while.)

OMG so worried.
Like, worried sick.

Tea. Pulling old log times. Testing Energy logtimes to make sure that they are, how you say, distinct? W00t. They are, good. Saw Turbo when I was back getting tea. But yeah, Obso1337 Super asked whazzup with my homie, and I didn’t know that there was anything up with my homie, so now I know I am going to to start freaking out, because he is my ex-bondmate.

Oh, fuck.

Will be descending upon trystan_laryssa and dustraven with Chris in tow. Chris saw the Figment as of Monday, but game was cancelled due to people being generally ill. The figment was one of them. NOT HAPPY LUNATIC.

Reviewed stuff with the Princess; general glee about pivot-tables and monthly runs of Daily Report.

Goodness. Now I have “Do You Take It?” in my head. For whatever reason, the phrase “I’ve ordered in a shipment of the relevant equipment” slid into my head when talking about a monitor report. So. Guess what my head is singing about merrily? “Mother says you have that touch of class…”

I am spreading my “Entertainment” poster about the workplace. Hee.

Little muscle twitches. Not uncontrollable, but the sort of soothing physical movement that makes putting up with whatever the fuck is going on that much better.

See, the Figment took off for some vacation. He told the office, but the office spaced it. They saw him no-call, no-show. He saw him on vacation. We were worried sick because it's Not Like Him to disappear and not call in.

What did one good speller tell another?
"Hey, man, stop *groan* )

Am annoyed with MS. Got new HD, so my key doesn't work. Had to call in and verify. Obnoxious.
