azurelunatic: Jolly Roger superimposed on CD (Jolly Burner)
I haven't been able to find the lyrics to this anywhere else on the internet. Quality of the transcription is dodgy, as I was transcribing from Pandora, which means that I was doing the pause-and-type method, and since the singer's voice is nasal and indistinct, I may have heard something wrong. I usually like to listen to the song all the way through and have it blasting, but I wanted to get the lyrics down this time. I will eventually wind up buying the album, or at least the song, because it is just too silly.

In case the "Lunatic disappears into bathroom and does not emerge for an hour" was not clue enough, the hot water is back, however flakily. It transpires that it was not fully back in time for the redhead's shower a half-hour earlier. >.< At least my foot feels a little better. All yesterday it was feeling scrunked up -- cramped and nasty. Today it felt worse, and I was limping despite making the time to walk to work. I got it soaked, so it's not in immediate screaming agony, and some ibuprofen and I will be going to bed shortly.

The apartment was entered earlier for some kind of "water emergency" -- they were inspecting the bath tap. What for, besides emergency, I'm not sure. The sheet informing us of this was torn off a full page and left on the toaster, so I am guessing that it was not just us who they barged in upon.

I was tidying the kitchen a bit, and spotted the half-full plastic jar of blue glass pebbles. They were wet, so I couldn't well put them in my bag of shinies, and anyway, the area about here needed a bit of shining up. So I charged them with the awareness that magic is real and just around the corner if you know how to touch it, and distributed them among the gravel "lawn" that the apartment complex has.

There are plenty of kids who are going to be exploring around and picking up and poking rocks, and there's very little that's more cool than picking up a pretty shiny that can be all yours. I have a number of little treasures poked away back in Alaska.

I saw a little gecko chillin' on a window security screen while I was scattering my shiny bits of glass about. Yay gecko.

My latest personal development/artistic project is an attempt to learn to sing "Aka to Kuro".

Lyrics, transliterated layered with translated )

Learning to sing this is not such a futile pursuit as one might imagine, given that I do not know enough Japanese to get myself out of trouble. If I listen to the music and can read along with the Romaji, and can learn to sing the syllables, I'm there. I'd probably do better with sheet music, because then I can read the notes as well as the lyrics, but I'll eventually get it.

I have taken to using random lyrics from all sorts of things as post subjects. Somehow they manage to fit in some sort of bizarre and surreal way.

Heard this song on the radio back sometime in the mid/late '90s, and was absolutely delighted and amused that someone would write a song of thanks to a kind freeway driver.

Having now driven on freeways, I now understand.

Oh, yes, this is a song for the romance-that-isn't.

The incomparable ThisToThat.com gets asked about what glue to use on a live crayfish.

I picked up Flights of Fantasy, edited by Mercedes Lackey, at Bookman's the other day on a whim, and I do recommend it. I'd previously stated that her more recent work has been joyless and formulaic; this collection, while betraying a mechanical editor in a few places (S.M. Stirling had a misplaced it's/its), was on the whole fun, and ML's story was a delight that had me howling with sheer glee. No warnings for non-con necessary on her piece. Evidently the character snagged her by the pen out of the Before while she was writing another, lesser, novel, and would not shut up until she'd had her say said. I approve. Warnings do involve Tyrannical Parents, but the situation is dealt with nicely.

A post is needed on the topic of bystander guilt, and why I'm coping so well and am free of bystander guilt over the death of the woman in the car accident.

I've loved this song since I first encountered it, in the movie Shrek. For a while, the Support guru [livejournal.com profile] rahaeli had "the holy or the broken hallelujah" as her name, and that reminded me to go on a lyrics search...

Among the other burning tasks I need to do, I need to burn this, as well as a few others, for a sad songs disk... "Hallelujah", "American Pie", "Crying in the Rain", "Near Wild Heaven" ... what others?
