two updates and a color
Feb. 28th, 2023 02:15 pmElectrical: Previously, the combination of a windstorm and a DIY made some Bad Smells come out of the main kitchen light switch. The breaker is off.
Currently
* Electricians are being called; we do not have an appointment time yet.
* This breaker controls multiple things:
-- kitchen overhead lights
-- dining room light
-- hall light
-- bathroom light & fan
-- bathroom outlets
-- ENTIRE GARAGE
Fortunately, it does not control
* oven
* range & hood with light
* kitchen outlets
-- microwave
-- outlet that is currently charging Steph's camping lantern
* outlet used by the "neon" LED rope wrapped around the dining room ceiling
We're using my emergency floodlight in the bathroom when it gets dark. It went most of the night and only used two dots of power, which was nice. I'm recharging it today. The night of, I used Steph's lantern plus two candles-in-jars from previous power outages.
Also garage, but thit time garage roof: I had noted a few times before that the garage roof is sagging. This time it got into Belovedest's to-do list instead of vanishing from both our ADHD minds. So at some point someone from the company that redid the roof however long ago is going to come back and see if it's a warranty repair. We had a date and time, but that has whizzed past without any interaction. Did they come quietly and inspect without the homeowner present? We will know when we get a callback, I guess.

It was time to re-do my gel polish, and I was not feeling super ambitious. Instead of the stamping that I'd been thinking about for next, I saw the packet of neon flatback rhinestones. I thought about the little box of neon powders and thought "what the hell, I'll use the yellow one from the original box" (which had been broken enough on arrival that it got yellow neon pigment all over everything).
