Desk chair woes
May. 10th, 2023 12:48 amMy beloved desk chair started dumping me forward, at first every now and then, but (around the time of the Noodle Incident on the 4th) at an increasing rate until today when the chair would not stay flat and I could not lean at an angle that made it acceptable.
Belovedest interviewed me (and I was not great at answering those questions, because I had run nearly completely out of cope). I would not in fact be able to sit on that chair to put away groceries. Yes, there was a replacement hardware for their desk chair. No, I did not know if that hardware matched these chairs, because I'd measured their desk chair and it bloody well matched that one. Yes, there was a third chair of the same type as mine. It was down in Sewzb0t Parlor. Yes, I did like this style of chair.
They eventually made a three-chair swap: their desk chair went to the kitchen, the kitchen chair came to my desk, and my dear desk chair that we'd spent so much time and money on has been relegated to their desk, where it will hopefully not cause any more near misses.
(I did not in fact sustain burns from the Noodle Incident, probably because I had enough layers that the liquid didn't reach my skin and I held it away from my skin and got my hand under the water pretty quickly.)
This chair is shorter than I want it to be, but it's also functional. Thank fuck.
