Daily randomness of Miss Lunatic
May. 12th, 2008 11:53 pm- 07:23 @intrepia omg omg I hope they are ok. #
- 13:11 Oh, dear. Darling email list teenagers, it would help if you spelled the name of the character that you hate correctly when renicking. #
- 13:57 I now have a new haircut! Nothing drastic, just added long bangs, so I can shorten them as needed to get the exact anime-hair I want. #
- 19:16 Zomg mall trip. Sought out girl with whom we chatted last time at the jewelry store. She is getting married! And becoming a lawyer! #
- 22:21 The economy: I have stimulated it. Related: new bras, and more traumatic underpants. (Colour, not cut, is the trauma point.) #
- 22:51 Since I cleaned the bearings in my trackball mouse, it has been like mousing on air. I have happiness due to this! #
- 22:52 Mall wore me out hardcore. Must at least stay awake until 1am. #
Woke the Darkside from a nap when I called. Amazingly, this led to other than what I expected. I had expected him to get off the phone and resume his nap, but instead there was sleepy conversation. (Oh. If this is how he is on lazy weekend mornings, sign me up.)
I told him about the nightmare. It's one of those things that you just have to warn someone about, and not that they'd ever get themselves into a situation like that, but -- you still have to give the warning, as it was given to you. I mentioned my bad engagement. The nightmare was of him in a similar situation.
Then I told him about the latest Leftover Leftovers Guy situation. Which was a doozy. (Public-safe version coming soon.) He was confident that I had it all under control. His workplace is having the fun, including power outage!
Despite the new ISP, he has not got new e-mail address yet. This degenerated into debate over how best to recover data from "the big machine" -- that being the st00pid hy00ge box that has been doing the chronic overheating thing. (Parenthetical discussions: how Dawn has invited "us" for Thanksgiving either this year or next; GenCon in November in CA, and how he's going and hoping to see Dawn while he's there.) And he was eventually off to find Lord Mark to see if he could rustle up a solution, possibly involving Frankenboxen. (Definitely involving frankenboxen.)
Now, I've got a presentation at work to prepare for. I'm wearing my hair partially up.
( Hairstyle. )

Guy in a pink hat! (Not beverage-safe for Star Wars fans.)
I need to investigate to see if it is a bug: I thought that when I transferred the "Bujold" tag off the Steady Freddy userpic and onto ingenuity, that I had cut, not copied. It told me that it had picked one at random. It wound up on the right one. I thought that it was off Steady Freddy, actually. I should test.
My cosanguinary dayshift co-worker (we give plasma at the same place) hailed me and wanted to know if there was any truth to the rumor that I had gotten engaged and pregnant. Um, no.
Though I could see how that one could have gotten started. I'd been talking with Trendy Chick's counterpart, and mentioned in context of getting houses and settling down and stuff that there was This Guy who I was courting, and where he goes, I follow, and that he sounded like he would like to settle in the Bay Area, and therefore I would likely wind up there too. So that could have gotten spread very close to All Wrong very fast.
Today was a Serious Conditioning day, as I'd seriously almond oiled my hair last night before the shower (because I had to use the stupid dandruff shampoo, the shampoo that always leaves my hair feeling dry and nasty) and it was so very oiled in the shower that I didn't even have to use my actual conditioner. (Amazing.) So I braided it like that, and in the morning I was still feeling oiled and smoothed. Tonight? Still very much with the almond oil. I'm not sure if I'm going to have to condition tonight either.
New Hair, Blue Hair
May. 1st, 2006 09:49 amI put dye on the hair last night. I was ready for a mess, because I dripped blue all over the nightshirt when I was putting it on, but it seemed to soak all up into the hair (oo, damaged tips) so all I had was a bit of goo, and no blue. I have yet to unbraid it and brush it out (sirens woke me up, and I have to finish up my sleep cycle) but little bits should be nicely darkened and may even glow blue in the sunlight. Yay for blue hair, even stealth!blue hair!
I also did a baking-soda-and-vinegar hairscrub last night. It feels disgustingly icky when it's just the baking soda on there, but the vinegar rinses it all right out. Hair is feeling shiny and smooth this morning, and that is a good thing.
It would be great if I could actually cut down on the number of random bottles that are lurking around the sides of the shower. If I can actually switch the hair care routine to need less in the way of commercial products, I can afford to start getting small bottles that don't take up that much room, really.
I miss the peach-scented conditioner I used to use. It was a scent filled with all sorts of memories.
