5 substantial baggies
May. 16th, 2022 11:39 pmTo displace some of my nerves about Ev's new house (keys 5/17, official handover 5/18) I decided to disassemble some of the dried mint that's been hanging around the kitchen in various bins for a while.
At first I was just going to put all of it into one baggie, but I decided that would be an incoherent mess of flavor. So the bags are:
* Mint (fuzzy)
* Mint (lemony)
* Mint (peppery)
* Mint (???)
* Sage!
... That last is not actually a mint as I know them, but got sorted in due to fuzziness and our extreme exhaustion as it was 2020 at the time.
They are labeled such that it wouldn't take an honest law enforcement officer too long to discern that there was no funny business, but the effect as they are spread out next to each other is ... certainly herbal. Yellface was wandering around doin' a sniff.
My desk and I are covered in shards of mint leaf. I'm looking forward to the tea, especially since when it gets way too hot out and I have to hydrate a lot, mint water is easier on me than plain water. (It's also possible that I should break out the rehydration juice at that point.)
There's a sixth bag in with this crowd because I couldn't identify the plant at all. That one is "spicy boi".
I am reminded of the time Dawn gave me a grocery sack of mint.
