Wednesday: there was a fabric & paper boxes workshop. I went, full of hope! Unfortunately, it was the wrong kind of paper boxes. I am Terrible at origami, and consequently I loathe doing it. (Getting the things lined up is too much dex for me, and I fail at it, repeatedly, in a not-fun way, and I see no need to torture myself doing it when other people enjoy it.) I quietly left early.
I then got some nice tinsel at the dollar store, and got some teas and other nice things from some bulk bins. While listening to The Ex Hex, which was fun and fluffy and full of unwise witchcraft. Very little murder as compared to the blurb.
Thursday: pretty much nothing except for a chat with Nora, and a nice long bath where I finished up the book and soaked off my nail polish.
Friday: follow-up appointment for Yellface (which I slept through), some Adventures in Physical Therapy, a video appointment where my microphone failed to do the thing. I'm going to see if I can enlist Belovedest's help with the physical therapy, and I set the reminder for it at a time when I'm likely to be able to find a stopping point. I also put on my new nail polish (extremely important for a journey out into the cold) even though it was fearfully basic (9 light blue nails, 1 clear).
And then shopping. I stayed in the car for two of the stops, since Belovedest is much less likely to get distracted. Our friend at location #4 on this trip allowed as how it was a very weird day: aggravating from first thing in the morning and so on. His neighbor's husband is the one who pays the power bill. He is also overseas. And neglected to leave a note about how this thing would need to be done (and how to do it) in his absence. His neighbor has been invited to drop by his place and charge her phone and maybe keep the cat company. The front end guy who always says hello rerouted us to a register (we were going through self-checkout, since it was after the registers usually close), and all was fine -- until the scale failed to work. So we got rerouted to a new register.
Belovedest toppled over shortly after we got home (after hauling everything in). I did my usual fridge/freezer tetris job, and then put together some Bulls in Blankets (the full-size all-beef hotdog version of Pigs in Blankets). Note for next time: lower temperature, longer time. I sent through a commendation for the folks at Location #4.
Today Steph decreed it was a good time for a tea party, as their boss had sent a Care Package. I did an A/B test (on myself) of double cream first, jam second, or jam first, double cream second. Steph did likewise. Their verdict: each different, both good. My verdict: I don't necessarily care which is where, as long as there's plenty of jam. We are still working on the tea. (Two pots: an almond chestnut oolong, and a peach apricot black. I like both.) I coincidentally have crumpet rings, if we want to try making crumpets.
