I was feeling very antisocial last night.
evealone had an overstock of pizza, which got at least partially demolished by the home crowd. I mostly stayed in my room and tried to sleep. I'd rather sleep when depressed than want to hurt myself. It's a step up.
digitalambience came over, originally to take a look at why my IM programs are not precisely working, and to make the network work. He set up the original network in the first place, so he's got experience, even though Red wasn't doing much on the network at the time, IIRC... No, wait. Eh, whatever.
But I inherited the position of Network Admin from him, having not really studied my networking, and it's a miracle that the network works as well as it does. I know how to set Windows 2000 machines to share their internet connections, and to accept the network addressed that are given to them, biyatch! ...but that's about the extent of my network admin skills. I haven't the foggiest at how to get a 2000 network to have a 98 machine listening, and getting the 98 machine to connect to the 2000 machine? No way. It's surprising enough that I got Red to listen to the fact that he's got a NIC and to accept that with good grace (though he can't print when he starts up with the Network Enabled hardware profile; if I were truly l33t I would have been able to resolve the IRQ conflict in a manner that would have let him use everything at once...) ...getting him truly on the network has been beyond my skills, and is probably just a bent bit of cable.
digitalambience came over, and snuggled up next to me, and there was teasing and silliness. I got his nose! Not too terribly much in the way of groping. We've grown apart from each other quite a bit, and it's far more comfortable than the game of Tetra Master was. If he'd been able to stay, something more than just teasing might have happened, but he had bowling to go do: playing with balls with the Loud Guy. (Bald Guy would have been invited, but Bald Guy was gaming with Skippy.)
Evidently this apartment is far too weird for the Loud Guy; he was barely able to tolerate the general weirdness when Adam lived here; now that Adam's not, Adam's snarky suggestion that the Loud Guy grace us with his presence was shuddered at. Since all the denizens here dislike the Loud Guy, and the Loud Guy was getting glared at by three adults and one cat (not sure if Nephew was picking up on the hostility and joining in) while he was holding forth in a highly opinionated manner on something that everyone wished he'd just shut the hell up about, I don't blame him at all for feeling that this apartment is rather weird. If he were less of an ass, it would be a lot more comfortable.
Slept well. Woke around sixish, and the cat has been crying for breakfast since. He's outside Mommy's door crying, as Mommy's the one who feeds him.
