Home Front

All is good. Votania and I did dishes together: I rinsed, she piled in dishwasher. So sue us, we're urban. She made coffee-stuff. I am using up my dreadful yet so enticing butterscotch vodka mixture, and am currently feeling the effects of both the espresso and the vodka.

Finished reading my English chapters, and shall therefore soon vacuum.

Organization

I vacuumed. Yesterday Votania organized my Big Box O' Media, wherein I keep computery things. Next up: putting the Box Ov Technocracy back inside itself, and into that place where it's stored.

Yep, done.

What else?

Well, laundry. Votania and I both need to do that. Perhaps I should make a few moves in that direction.

I started putting back entries from my physical journals in this online one, in suitably altered form so that names don't always correspond to the exact name of the person IRL. The latest additions are in March of 1999.

Votania seems to have Red working. The shock!

My father's to have surgery on his back soon. My parents leave town today, and will be spending time with Narcissa and River for the better part of the month.

I hope all shall be good.

Ahh, cleanup time.

Just cleared out a big box of Stuff. Much-needed cleanup is going on around here. Put things in laundry; must retrieve them at seven.

Found AC to DC adapters (all 9v), a CAT-5 crossover cable, and a patch cable, plus user manuals, coupons, and other assorted paperwork. Notepaper. Yule cards from last year. Interesting things.

Delight/despair; chaos/order.

Have been instilling order into my life. Not the orderliness that is Greyface, but rather the order that is the natural enemy of the Greyface that manifests as the mold in the salsa, the dead rat in the bag of chips. This is the order of the fractally-arranged closet, the order of small drawers with surprises within, the order of all books put in a bookshelf, the order of flat places to put an unexpected project, the order that has just that much chaos lurking within should you see it with other eyes.

I am transported with delight: this is my room as it was intended to be.

First Class

English class. Have been housecleaning: this comes at the end of a full day.

Business writing should be purpouseful economical, reader-oriented. Elegant, even. Thinking that my journal is going to wind up a crash DeVry course in stuff.

Need to replace the film overcthe screen on Inanna here: the letter-entry portion is scratched and difficult to work on.

Prewrite [plan], write, revise. My LJ is good practice for my writing. Second nature.

Business writing is informative, pursuasive, promoting of goodwill.

What is it...

...about the construction "<noun/pronoun> <is/am/are> to be <verb>ing the <noun>" that is so very amusing?

It's so very nice having chickfriends.

Specifically, I appreciate the having of female friends (as well as the random male) who I can have injokes with.

For example:

DOOM!
CHEESE!

I have no idea why either doom or cheese is quite so important, but it's an injoke. It can crack me up every time. It was one of those late-night bizarre discussions of things, and somehow both doom, and cheese, made it into the conversation.

There are other injokes, quite a few with votania, but none so silly as Doom/Cheese. And odd sentence constructions. I am made professional by the shirt.

WTF...
